What software does everyone use to edit and enhance their photographs? I tend to use Picassa on the PC or iPhoto on the mac and find them both a pleasure to use, but was just wondering if there was anything better out there for an amateur photographer like myself!! :p

My photos are unedited & uncropped, although I do have Irfanview & Picasa. I only use them for resizing images though, as otherwise the file size is too big.
The only REAL photo editing I've ever done was the old-fashioned kind, using an enlarger and waving bits of cardboard around to change the exposure in different sections of the picture! Still got the enlarger but I don't use it much anymore, which is a pity...

With an old-fashioned enlarger? Or with digital editing?
If the picture quality isn't good enough I don't think it's possible to enlarge it & retain clarity at the same time.

adobe photo shop is the only one for me just a shame that I am the worst photographer on the hills.

I'm sure you're not. Any photo of a hill is better than none at all - it shows you made the effort to get out there!
I keep thinking I should take a camera on my runs. The early morning light is beautiful even if the scenery's not that dramatic. I'll probably remember one of these days!

adobe photoshop for me too - although I am starting to use apple's aperture - its pretty good for managing large amounts of photos and offers good RAW processing as well (sorry bit technical but my days jobs a graphic designer)
