Hi,

We are in dire need of some good advice on camping and surviving the great outdoors.

We are planning on driving from London to Mongolia via eastern Europe, Kazakhstan, Russia and through parts of the Gobi desert in Mongolia. All this in two old VW Polo's!!

It all in the name of charity and hopefully we will raise a lot of cash for some worthy projects!

We will be mainly camping on the trip so any advice, tips and recommendations would be much appreciated.

Check out our website if you want to find out a bit more about what were doing http://www.team-dk.co.uk/

Thanks for you help.

Hi and welcome to GoXplore.

I'm sure almost all of our members would love to help with advice, but 'camping and surviving in the great outdoors' is a big topic! If you could let us know what sort of experience you have and what kind of camping you are planning and so on, it will be far easier to give some tips.

Well done on your trip by the way - it looks fantastic, all the best of luck!

Looks like a great idea.

Without knowing more, probably the key thing to take into consideration is water(particularly in the Gobi):

How much to carry in the vehicles
Where your water stops will be planned
How will you purify the stuff.

I'll post other stuff when more info is provided.
