It was a very interesting programme. I was unaware that only 1,155 (I think that was the number) people had summitted Everest. There was also a poignant line where the narrator noted that eight people died in the few days following the filming. Fifteen people have died so far, for every one hundred who made the summit.

I was also taken by the comment that at 7,800 'you start to die'. I knew that above that level the risk of death increases, but 'start to die' implies something a whole lot more certain.
