Out camping at the weekend, first thing Sunday morning temperature below freezing (water in Sigg bottle like slush puppy), filled up trangia with fuel, put kettle on packed away kit while it boiled, made brew in thermal mug. Then with the trangia warmed up got my Gucci non stick trangia frying pan and fried bacon up in no time!

Sat there there with coffee and bacon butty on a cold but lovely fine morning!

Much easier than sat there shaking the gas bottle on my alpine stove trying to get it to work. (Don't get me wrong, I love gas in the summer)

Trangia's are just like Marmite, you either love them or hate them!

Trangia is definately my favourite cooking tool in the winter months, couldn't live without it.

But then again, in the summer, my gas stove is my best friend when I'm in the lowlands.

At some point I've going to compile the two and fit my gas stove into the body of my trangia. This means that I'll have the wind gaurd protecting the flame, but the wind coming through the holes will increase the efficiency of the flames. Could be the ultimate winter cooking stove.

I got this idea from a D of E leader who has done soemthing similer with his.
