On sustained traverses, or long problems where it is difficult, or just too much effort to chalk up your hands, try gently patting the holds with your chalk ball BEFORE trying the route. Your sweaty hands with thankfully pick the chalk as you go along diminishing the need to carry a chalk bag with you. And thus saving that extra bit of weight as you fight gravity for that last hold
