The sun rose and broke over the snow covered peaks, the morning dew glistened on the field of wheat grass beneath his feet and on the leaves of the aspens above him.

His eyes still trying to focus from their night sleep, he stretched as the bugle of the bull elk echoed throughout the entire valley....it was fall.

A motion caught the corner of his eye startling him into wondering "what was that?" Too small to be an elk, too light to be a deer, too big to be a turkey, what could it have been?

The sun warmed his face with it's bright orange glow, his thought was of a hot bowl of oatmeal with fresh blackberries, hand picked the day before at the bottom of the hill leading up to his camp.

As the water began to boil the image of earlier caught his vision from the corner again...."what was that?!"

He thought to himself....."maybe a wolf or coyote smelling the scraps from his rattlesnake dinner the night before? Must be coming to see if there are any left-overs!"....

....As the sun began to set the fire came to life like bed sheet blowing in the wind the flames made up their own dance of the wilds.

Darkness drew neigh as he noticed a figure of white moving throughout the trees. What ever it was it is very fleet of foot he thought to himself. Too small and agile to for a bear and definitely too big for a coyote....What then could it be?

While heading to retire for the night, to his amazement, there it was! A vision to behold like no other he had ever seen before.........The Shoshoni Chief of 1824 "White Eagle".....his spirit guide of the mountain!
