Hi all
Just to break this posting silence, it's 3.30pm on Friday, I just checked the weather for the weekend, phoned my brother and we're off up the Carneddau tomorrow to camp.
It's hell living on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, being able to shoot off there at the drop of a hat! :D :D :D

Yes, have a happy weekend, everybody. I'm of for a (very short) camp too.
Hope you have a good time, taff!

Have Fun, Taff! I'm envious, as once again I'm stuck at home with the coursework
Things have got a bit quiet on here recently, for which I should probably apologise - myself and Digby have found ourselves under mountains of work over the last few days and just haven't had the time to get more posts on!
The planned upgrade should happen in the next few days and after that we will be trying our best to get the forum back to its usual busy self! As ever, feel free to invite some outdoors mates to join - the more the merrier, as they say.

Trip was cancelled! I forgot the overruling factor..... Wife & daughter who had other plans!:(
Took them shopping instead, had to settle for looking around camping shops.
So even living this close, it can still be hard to get out there!

Aaaaaah, thank goodness I don't have wife and kids lol. Unfortunately I have a mother!
Good job I'm in a club so I get plenty of time out on the hills.

It must be a real bugger!
From my house I have Tal Y fan right behind me and I can see the rest of the mountains in the background, I can honestly say when I'm having a shave every in the morning i open the window to look out at them, wishing I could be up there instead of putting on the suit and going to work.
I have managed to get my line manager to agree for me to take a group of our students up to Plas Y Brenin on an adventure day once a month, also got them to allow me to do Duke of Edinburgh with them. Got to finish off this WGLA course first. My arguement is that I am producing more rounded citizen more aware of the environment around them, not just teaching them IT.
I had one lad who had never been in a woods let alone being on a mountain, full of attitude, stroppy, he did the adventure day, they did climbing raft building and orienteering, he came to see me today, he's taken up rock climbing and is going with a group up Snowdon this weekend, and his attitude in the training centre has totally changed. I feel quite chuffed!:D
