Hi everyone,

I'm just interested in your views, where is the best place to go Mountain/trail biking in the UK?

A couple of friends and I often go out on the Lincolnshire Wolds, but it is starting to get a bit boring as we have covered just about every inch of ground and know the area like the back of our hands.

Thanks,
Tim

That really depends on how far you want to travel I guess?!

Aston hill near wendover woods, Bucks is quite good but for you would be a bit of a distance.

They hold the mountain biking world championships at Fort William, so I guess that must be a good place!

We haven't biked anywhere but the South Downs. They give pretty good long and short routs away from the crowds but you are never far away from a town, village or a good pub. Some of the tracks get a bit rutted in the soft chalk especially at this time of year. We also have several disused railway tracks (thanks to Dr Beaching) and these have been made into to excellent fast leval pathways with a bit of an historical feel. I have an idea that the New Forest could be good and we are going to camp/bike it soon.
