is this some sort of record. My father has just informed me that he has finally got rid of his Brasher Hiking boots after 20 years of use. He told me that the sole finally detacted while doing the coast walk in Cornwall last month.

Impressive work :)

Do they still make them like that? :D

I don't think they make them like that anymore. I think this is because of the use of cheaper more available materials, and machines are making everything now a days which can sometimes be a bad thing. Back in the days when boots were hand made I think they lasted a lot longer. They had to...no one had the money to replace boots every year or two.

Unfortunately, my experiences also back this up; I've only had my boots a couple of years and they are pretty wrecked (don't even mention waterproof). They were kind of cheap though...
