hello all,
..anyone know of any local scrub clearing/footpath maintenance events needed doing in south bedfordshire ? i've tried popping in my postcode on the national trust website, but the results weren't really what i was after...

I'm surprised nothing came up with the National Trust - they always need help keeping Dunstable Downs in order.

Have you heard of vale countryside volunteers based in Aylesbury, dont know if this is too far away but they are a really nice bunch of people. They go out on Wednesdays normally.

There's also often volunteers needed for work on the canals and things, clearing them, resurfacing footpaths, etc. Might be worth considering.

Try your local country park, they're often greatful for anyone who can provide an extra hand.

Its a shame your not closer to me as I have some work that needs doing on my reserve. Try the Bedfordshire Wildlife Trust and or BTCV as they should have some jobs like this going. Even though its later in the year its still going on as the seasons are not what they were!
