Hi Ocky, welcome to GoXplore
![]() What kind of gear do you have already, and what time of year, and where, are you considering going? On the whole, good kit for England will be just as good in Scotland. The main difference is the mountains are consistently higher, and the winters colder. Also the west can be very wet, and the midge season needs special consideration ( !). Amenities can be fewer and further between so self-sufficiency and preparedness can play a larger part. It's certainly beautiful, and there's the bonus of better camping opportunities with more relaxed laws in some places. It's not a camping free for all though: land and livestock, and landowners, need to be respected and treated with courtesy. The less gear you take, the easier it is to travel, and enjoy the country. So, enough to be safe is a good place to start!

Hi Ocky. Are there any links you can click on within the email? Alternatively, any threads in Bold Type in the latest/unread threads list on the left hand side of the home page?
Also look at the Private Messages indicator at the top right, and have a nose around in your Control Panel. Hope this helps! ![]()
